Dr. Almira (Ellie) Chabi, is a physician-scientist with deep experience as an executive, board member, and strategic advisor who is serving as Chief Medical Officer of HanAll Pharmaceutical International.  She is also a Corporate Board Director at NurrOn Pharmaceuticals. Additionally, Dr. Chabi has been selected to the Scientific and Medical Research Funding Grants Working Group at the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine.

Dr. Chabi has led programs across multiple complex therapeutic areas including oncology, neurology, immunology, ophthalmology, and otology as well as biomarker and device development.  She has spearheaded initiatives to strategically deploy AI and unlock the value of data assets to accelerate scalable innovation, inform high-impact decisions and shape sustainable competitive positioning.

Dr. Chabi previously held the position of Vice President and Global Therapeutic Area Head for Glaucoma & Neuroprotection as well as Lead for Artificial Intelligence Programs at Santen Pharmaceutical. Prior to Santen, she held a senior role at Genentech, including programs encompassing over 20 countries. Dr. Chabi began her pharmaceutical career at Merck in the Neuroscience & Ophthalmology Clinical Research Group, working on a range of projects leading to multiple successful NDA filings.

Upon completion of medical school, residency and surgical fellowship training, she also completed a research fellowship at Cornell University, and has served as adjunct clinical staff at Stanford University. Dr. Chabi completed the Bioentrepreneurship program at the University of California-San Francisco and is also an alumna of Wharton Business School’s Executive Management Program.

She has deep experience identifying strategic opportunities and leading due diligence efforts for business development and venture capital initiatives. Dr. Chabi has served as a board representative for multiple companies, bringing proven expertise in combining agile strategy with technological foresight to implement innovations that create enterprise value.
